TABLE OF CONTENTS
I love breadfruit, period. Especially when it is turned (half-ripe). I can easily eat breadfruit daily if I have access to it regularly. Breadfruit is a very common fruit tree in Jamaica. As such, you will find the tree in many yards, both urban and rural. While most of us might eat it cooked with ground provisions or roasted, some of us might not be aware that it can make a great punch. One that is simple, filling and tasty. Try it nuh!

Ingredient Spotlight!
~ Breadfruit~
Breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) is a tree of the mulberry family. While it might seem like a humble fruit, it is choked full of nutrients.
Some of the nutrients of breadfruit include riboflavin, niacin (vitamin B3) and thiamin (vitamin B1). It also contains minerals such as phosphorus, copper, iron, magnesium, calcium, and zinc, among others.
It is said to contain no saturated fat but is high in starch and calories. It can be eaten roasted, boiled, fried (after roasting) and even ground into flour. In this dish, we enjoy it as a punch, which is filling and delicious.
To good health!
