INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup milk (I used Almond Milk).
- 1 ½ ripe banana (not too ripe). You can use 2 ripe bananas.
- 2 tsp sugar (optional).
- 1 tsp vanilla.
- Pinch of salt.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Add the milk to a blender.
- Add all the other ingredients.
- Blend until smooth.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy!
- Strain with a ‘cheese cloth’ if you are going to add it to coffee, cocoa or any other hot beverage.
- Enjoy!
Notes:
Banana milk is like regular milk, boosted. For this recipe, you can add 1 more banana if you are going to use 1 cup of milk. I use 1 banana to ½ cup of milk, as I was using it right away to add to my coffee. This was so good!
Some tips:
If you are going to drink this as is, you can pour it into a glass and enjoy it or add some ice. However, if you are going to add it to coffee or cocoa tea, you may want to strain it to remove the bits of ripe banana that will be evident in a hot beverage. The bits may be obvious even if you use a high-speed blender (As I did).
If you have more after serving, you can store it in the refrigerator. Remember, though, the longer it stays in the refrigerator, the colour will darken as the sugar in the banana begins to ferment. This would happen even faster if the banana used is very ripe.

Ingredient Spotlight!
~ Ripe Banana~
Ripe bananas are a famous fruit, especially at breakfast time.
Ripe bananas are packed with nutrients, especially potassium, which is mostly known. Other nutrients you can find in ripe bananas are Pyridoxine (vitamin B6), vitamin C, and manganese, among others.
Ripe bananas purportedly may also help with heart health, managing blood pressure, and digestive and gastrointestinal issues. As such, eating bananas whole or in liquid form is a good way to enjoy many beneficial nutrients, even in just one sip.
