Chocolate Oat Milk – Pump up the Flavour!

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Here is another way you can enjoy your oats and oat milk. Oats is a wonderful cereal for your staple wellness routine due to its many health benefits. But sometimes, it can become a bit monotonous. As such, I am always on the quest to find ways to enjoy it in varied ways. Here is another – Chocolate Oat milk – as I have a few others on the blog. Try it nuh!

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup of oats.
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder.
  • 1 cup of water.
  • 1 Tsp vanilla.
  • Sweetener/condiments (optional).

INSTRUCTIONS

    • Add all ingredients to a blender (preferably a high-speed blender).
    • Blend until smooth.
    • Strain using a strainer/nut milk bag/cheesecloth.
    • Pour it into your preferred container.
    • Serve and Enjoy as is or place in the refrigerator for a little while to be chilled.
    • Do Enjoy!
Notes:

This milk is so good. It is smooth and tasty, with a thickish consistency, but not too much.  You can enjoy it as is (room temperature) or place it in the refrigerator for a little while or add a couple of ice-cube. All methods mentioned are enjoyable, your decision is based on what you prefer.  Also, I used a cheesecloth to strain mine. The leftover oats I save to add to a smoothie (I do not like to waste good stuff 😊). Hope you enjoy it!

A tip:

You can soak the oats overnight (or for at least 4-8 hours). This will cause it to become very soft and easier to blend. Additionally, depending on how long it soaks, you may not have to strain, especially if you use a high-speed blender.

Ingredient Spotlight!

~ Cocoa Powder~

Cocoa powder made from the cocoa bean is one of those foods that has been touted as a superfood due to its many purported health benefits.

Some health benefits of cocoa powder include its anti-inflammatory properties due to its theobromine properties. It is also purported to help with cognitive health, weight management and a strong immune system.

To good health!
