Looking for a wholesome, gluten-free breakfast that’s both satisfying and easy to prepare? These Buckwheat Pancakes are a delicious alternative to traditional pancakes and are perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a nourishing start to the day.
Despite its name, buckwheat is not related to wheat. It is naturally gluten-free and is considered a pseudocereal, making it a popular choice for people with coeliac disease, gluten intolerance, or those simply looking to add more variety to their meals.
Additionally, buckwheat is naturally rich in fibre, minerals such as magnesium and manganese, and plant compounds including rutin, an antioxidant that researchers have studied for its potential role in supporting cardiovascular health.
Made without cow’s milk and packed with a hearty, nutty flavour, these pancakes are light, filling, and easy to customize with fresh fruit, yogurt, nuts, or a drizzle of maple syrup.
Whether you’re following a gluten-free eating pattern or simply exploring new breakfast ideas, this recipe is one worth adding to your collection. Why not give it a try?

Ingredient Spotlight!
~ Buckwheat~
Buckwheat is an ingredient which is actually not related to wheat, but in reality, is the seed of a plant that belongs to the rhubarb and sorrel family. It is gluten-free and, as such, is an excellent alternative for those who are gluten-intolerant.
Buckwheat is a good source of manganese (the forgotten nutrient) that helps with healthy bones as well as the proper functioning of the thyroid gland and sex hormones. It also contains minerals such as copper, magnesium and phosphorus. It is also high in dietary fiber and is considered a protein and antioxidant powerhouse.
