Iron is an essential mineral that plays a key role in energy production, oxygen transport, and overall health — especially for women. However, iron levels can sometimes run low, particularly when our diets don’t consistently include enough iron-rich foods.
While supplements can help, getting iron from whole foods is often the preferred and more balanced approach.
That’s where this iron-booster smoothie comes in. Made with simple, nutrient-rich ingredients, this smoothie is designed to help support healthy iron levels — especially when access to a variety of iron-rich foods is limited.
Easy to prepare and nourishing, it’s a practical way to give your body that gentle iron boost it needs. Try it nuh!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup spinach.
- 1 ripe banana.
- 1 small cucumber.
- ½ cup raw oats.
- 2-3 dates, for additional sweetness (optional).
- 2 Tbsp collagen powder (optional).
- 1 cup water.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Add all the ingredients to a blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
You can switch up the fruits with the spinach. But ensure that it is a vitamin-C-rich fruit or vegetable. Vitamin C food helps with the proper absorption of iron. Also, you can peel and remove the seeds from the cucumber to help remove some of the lectin contents. Lectin interferes with the absorption of nutrients.

Ingredient Spotlight!
~ Collagen Powder~
Collagen powder is a supplement that is used to boost one’s collagen level. Collagen which is naturally produced in the body is one of the most abundant proteins that can be found in the human body. It helps with the structure of the body and skin etc. However, as we age, our level of collagen decreases.
Research suggests that collagen may be able to help with joint pain, skin health, bone loss and muscle mass among others. You can add collagen powder to smoothies, teas, coffee etc.
To good health!
