Here is another easy, but nutritious way to get your proteins.  A hempseed shake. This shake will not only help with your daily dose of protein but your overall health and well-being. Also, it is thick, creamy and very filling. If you have hemp seeds, then you can try this shake.  Try it nuh!

INGREDIENTS

• 1 cup almond milk
• 2 tbsp hemp seeds
• 1 ripe banana
• 1 tsp vanilla
• A pinch of cinnamon powder (sprinkle)
• 2 tbsp oats
• 2 or 3 dates (For a little bit more sweetness – optional)
• A pinch of salt (optional).

INSTRUCTIONS

• Add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender
• Blend until smooth.
• You can sprinkle a few hempseeds or cinnamon powder on the top when drinking.
• Serve and enjoy!

Note:

Hemp seeds can be a little raw when blended, as such, the vanilla and cinnamon powder along with the little salt can help to mask that taste. But you will certainly enjoy this shake, it is thick, creamy and very filling.

~ Dates~

Dates are the sweet fruits of the tree – Date Palms. They grow on clusters, similar to grapes, hanging a few feet off the ground. 

These fruits are a natural source of sugar, which is said to have a low glycemic index. As such, they are less likely to spike blood sugar.  They are high in fiber and a good source of nutrients such as potassium, magnesium, selenium, iron and even calcium.  It is also said to have some B-vitamins along with vitamin C.

You can add dried dates (without the seeds/pitted) to your smoothies or just eat them as is.
