Do you want to find a way to boost your plain milk? Well, here is one – Banana Flavoured Milk. And guess what? It is not complicated! This banana milk requires just a few ingredients and can be consumed with a little ice or added to your coffee or cocoa tea. It gives these teas that extra ‘humph’ and body, plus it is nutritious and tastes really great! Try it nuh!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup milk (I used Almond Milk).
- 1 ½ ripe banana (not too ripe). You can use 2 ripe bananas.
- 2 tsp sugar (optional).
- 1 tsp vanilla.
- Pinch of salt.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Add the milk to a blender.
- Add all the other ingredients.
- Blend until smooth.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy!
- Strain with a ‘cheese cloth’ if you are going to add it to coffee and cocoa or any other hot beverage.
- Enjoy!
Notes:
Banana milk is like regular milk boosted. For this recipe, you can add 1 more banana if you are going to use 1 cup of milk. I use 1 banana to ½ cup of milk as I was using it right away to add to my coffee. This was so good!
Some tips:
If you are going to drink this as is, you can just pour it into a glass and enjoy it or add some ice. However, if you are going to add it to coffee or cocoa tea, you may want to strain it to remove the bits of ripe banana that will be evident in a hot beverage. The bits may be obvious even if you use a high-speed blender (As I did).
If you have more after serving, you can store it in the refrigerator. Remember though, the longer it stays in the refrigerator, the colour will darken as the sugar in the banana begins to ferment. This would happen even faster if the banana used is very ripe.
